Remembrance Day

One of the main focuses of the Legion in Canada is to promote Remembrance of Canadians who have lost their lives fighting for the rights and freedoms that we enjoy in Canada. The annual Poppy Campaign leads up to Remembrance Day, November 11th, when we take a moment to remember all those who fought for the ideals we cherish. One day out of the year, two minutes silence out of the day; a small price to pay for the wonderful country we enjoy. We shall remember them!

Service Officer

Know someone who is sick and shut-in and a member of the Legion? Know someone who is eligible for Veterans' benefits but needs help dealing with the paperwork? Has someone in your neighbourhood passed away and they were a Veteran? These and many other queries can be answered or addressed by your Legion Service Officer. Service Officers receive training to be able to fulfill the mandate to "help veterans and their dependants." If you have a question, don't hesitate to call the Branch who can have the Service Officer call you. Veterans and their dependants deserve our help and the Service Officer can often make a difference.

Supporting Youth

Branch #211 regularly supports the development of our youth in the community. As well as a number of bursaries and scholarships every year, Branch #211 supports5 separate Cadet Corps Units which serve our area. The Branch also gives money to a number of organizations in the area that cater to youth and youth activities. The youth of our community are the future of the community - and of the Legion!
